It worked fine as a power cable, and definitely shifts more power through it than cables I replaced this with. However, it won't work for deliver power AND AV to my LG monitor from my macbook pro. I was CERTAIN that I did all the research I could, but this still didn't work. Older, lower spec cables do all of this just fine.
Not sure where I went wrong, but this all might work well for you. my advice would be to just do an extra bit of research to make sure it will work if you are after PD and AV.
